The Seggio river is the largest watercourse in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci. Its source is up in Sassettas metalliferous hills, an area that was already well known in the Etruscan period and is extremely rich in underground deposits of ferrous minerals. It cuts across the entire area of Bolgheri and its alluvial debris enrich the characteristic clay soils with precious large pebbles, thus ensuring excellent drainage of the soil.

The territory of the municipality of Castagneto Carducci is crossed by several waterways, among which the most important is the Seggio, which flows from the Metallifere hills and then goes to the Tyrrhenian Sea after crossing the entire Bolgheri area. Right from the Seggio it named this Rosso di Poggio al Tesoro, which makes its debut with the year 2014. Obtained from the grapes that reflect the typical Bordeaux cut, it is left to rest for about 15 months in French oak barriques, partly new and part of the second passage. It creates a Red that can combine in the same concentration and thickness, along with smoothness and freshness. It's a Red of Bolgheri, "The Sight", that will make you fall in love at the first instant.
