Founded in 1981, the Ornellaia Estate released its first vintage of Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia in 1997. Since then, there has been a vintage of this fine red wine released every year. It is officially a second wine, made using the grapes that were not deemed of high enough quality to make it into the winery's star, Ornellaia. That does not mean that this wine is anything other than excellent.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia 2016 is a beautiful expression of the flavour that can be produced by the climate of Bolgheri, Italy. APPELLATION: Tuscany

VINEYARD: Along the Mediterranean coast near Bolghieri, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, the Ornellaia vineyard, owned by Marchese Lodovico farm Antinori extend. In over 100 hectares of volcanic soil, vines Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot produced in this charming Ornellaia Le Serre Nuove 2016 are planted.

GRAPES: 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 32%, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot 20% 12%

AGEING: After a year, the wines are blended and continue to mature in barrels for three months. Finally, after bottling, the wine is aged for 6 months before marketing.

PREPARATION: After harvest, the grapes are taken to the warehouse to be selected, destemmed and then gently pressed. Every grape is vinified separately. Alcoholic fermentation begins in steel tanks at aTEMPERATUR:e between 26 and 30º C and lasts for about 2 weeks, which was followed by another 15 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation starts in steel, finished in oak barrels.

PAIRING: It's perfect served with venison, white and red meat and pasta courses with tomato sauce.

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 ° C

The Tenuta dell'Ornellaia wine is of a red ruby colour, having reddish brown edges. Fine aromas of raisins. A surprisingly fresh wine.

This rather mild wine pairs perfectly with roast lamb I've already tried it. Good wine and good company.
Opaque red. Smelled soft, like cinnamon and vanilla . It tasted good to me.
