Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore 2016 (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)
- View: bright ruby.
- Nose: warm notes of wild fruits and berries, peony, cola, snuff tanning and sweet spices.
- Boca: winding conical mouth and tannin, with a long finish smokiness.
APPELLATION: Bolgheri Superiore.
VINEYARD: The grapes come from the best vineyards of the estate of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Altitudes: between 180 and 200 meters above sea level. Exposure: southwest. Clay soil (with slight presence of alkali), limestone and sand.
GRAPES: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 40% and 10% Cabernet Franc.
AGEING: then came transferred to French oak barrels of 225 liters, half of which are new, to complete malolactic fermentation. Aged for 18 months in the barrel, followed by another 12 months in bottle before being released.
PREPARATION: grapes released by gravity tanks, each variety is vinified separately. Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for about 25-30 days at a controlled temperature never exceeds 28-30 ° C.
PAIRING: Red meats and cheeses.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 ° C
