The Tango cocktail was created in a bar in Astoria to honor the tango as a musical genre, known in France from 19th century by the French navy frigate getting to Argentina and then bring this lovely music to its homeland.

The tango as a musical genre born in Argentina and more specifically in Rio de la Plata between 1860 and 1875, as a form of musical expression and dance to the lower immigrant classes from Europe, settled in Buenos Aires and Montevideo.
