Description of Pétalos del Bierzo 2015
Pétalos del Bierzo 2015 (Mencía and Alicante Bouschet)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: cherry red Pict, dense and intense.
- Nose: fruity, fragrant, with pronounced notes of cherry, blackberry, red flowers.
- Palate: fresh, light, soft, tasty and persistent body.
DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN: Bierzo
VINEYARD: Descendants of J. Palacios
GRAPES: Alicante Bouschet, Mencia,
AGING: 4 months in barrels of new and used French oak.
PREPARATION: grapes from selected vineyards in the municipality of Corullón, and 50% selected in several vineyards in the heads of the poorest municipalities hills of different grapes: Valtuille, Villadecanes, paradones and Villafranca del Bierzo. And in the winery, the wine ferments with the scratch and then macerated with the skins up to 50 days.

Ricardo Perez Palacios is one of the great architects of a quiet revolution is taking place in the, so far, Bierzo region quite stagnant. Chelo is the son of Palacios, of the dynasty known Palacios (Remondo) of the Rioja, and this adventure has helped his famous uncle, Alvaro Palacios, well known for its wines of Priorat. Ricardo, 25, whom everyone knows by 'titin', has a long experience in France, Chile and the United States, and the wine have lived since birth, and having visited a lot of great producers of France along with Alvaro. Passionate dedication to the two sides Palacios Bierzo are born, not good Mencia grape wines, but the first great wines of great area, perhaps one day the Priorat northwest.
