In the center of Europe, in the province of Hainaut in Belgium, that is Chimay. Commonly known as the Entre-Sambre and Meuse, this region enjoys a protected environment. deciduous forests, grasslands, rivers, rolling pastures up there a real bird paradise. The community wants to preserve its authenticity and share with others the fruits of his labor, will, in 1965, rely on outsiders. That year saw the birth of a cooperative, La Ferme du Prince, responsible agricultural activities of the abbey, farming and culture. In 1978, bottling and marketing of beer Trappist Fathers were moved outside the monastery, the S. A. Chimay beers created in the Baileux industrial park, 5 km of Chimay. Beer, still made in the monastery is delivered by truck to the new place of bottling. At that time, it was urgent to renew the equipment, modernize, extend the filling system. In 1989, the brewing room of the Abbey of Scourmont was completely renewed. This Trappist beer has a coppery blond color and a generous white foam. The nose offers aromas of fresh hops and yeast. On the palate, the Chimay Triple that gives off aniseed and herbaceous notes, gives a nice balance between the citrus and fruity flavors. His "Authentic Trappist Product" logo certifies that the Chimay Triple occurred within a Trappist Abbey under the control of the monastic community and the majority of revenues are generated for social assistance.
