Fontanafredda Barolo comes from the Tradition product range of Fontanafredda and counts as a classic of its kind. A Nebbiolo like you would imagine. The grape grows on middle-high hillside landscapes throughout the whole Italian appellation of Barolo. Miocene-Helvetian and Tortonian origin soils packed with its characteristic limestone and marl provide the vineyards with all needed minerals for a good fruit. The harvest that marks the beginning of Fontanafredda Barolo annually starts in the first half of October.

The Winery
Fontanafredda
The Fontanafredda estate is located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, the heart of the Barolo production area, and covers an area of over 100 hectares. An important story, which brings us back to the figures of King Vittorio Emanuele II and his year, Rosa Vercellana, better known as "la Bela Rosin". Company faithful to the rule of directly producing wines, especially Barolo, and sparkling wines that bear the mark on the bottle.
More about the Winery
The best wine in combination with grilled foie.
I tried it on a tasting course.
The Fontanafredda Barolo was recommended at Uvinum, so I bought it.
Worthwhile.
