Marchesi di Barolo Barbera d'Alba Ruvei 2017

Barbera d'Alba is the most traditional of Piedmont wines. The grapes come from vineyards of mainly calcareous clay soils, alternating with layers of whitish marl, able to ensure the wine a great facility and provide it with a vigorous but balanced character. The product specification allows you to make wine Barbera d'Alba also blended with a small amount (up to 15%) of Nebbiolo d'Alba, to increase finesse and elegance. The Cellars of Marchesi di Barolo utilize this opportunity, together with the choice of the positions of the vineyards and the attention to the perfect ripening of the grapes, it allows for a softer wine with more structure, but reduced acidity.

Smooth hint of berry. The flavour doesn't go out right away.
Let it breathe before serving.

Smelling it, I noticed the aromas of blackberries. Stays a quite a few time in the mouth.
If you like wood-flavoured wines, this is perfect.

I went with work colleagues to Marchesi di Barolo and we taste it there.
Red ruby colour with reddish brown edges. Berry aromas which are typical of . Very light.
Should absolutely be paired with fish.
