Barbaresco 2014 PIO CESARE
History
The family owns 70 hectares of vineyards in particularly suited exhibitions.

The official classification of the vineyards - Additional Geographical mentions - was completed in 2010 for Barolo. For the Barbaresco, however, ended in 2007. Each of the vineyards in the Barolo and Barbaresco area is proudly included in the list of Geographical Additional mentions.

Choosing to have the vineyards located in different areas is not random. E 'in fact determined by the desire to melt and mix the different characteristics of each vineyard and each zone. This, of course, to produce wines representative of the style of all the terroirs of each denomination.

This winery is one of the few remaining in the historic center of the city of Alba. Built at the end of '700, it is covered and bounded by the Roman Ancient Walls of Alba Pompeia walls, which are the foundations and are visible in every corner of it.

The winery Pio Cesare was founded in 1881 to carry into the world of Cesare Pio with the aim of the potential of the great wines of Piedmont, like Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera. Since five generations until the Roman era (50 b. C.) Wine in the ancient cellars date back made. Only recently new fermentation and aging cellars were 12 m below the commercial buildings and the old Roman walls set up, thanks to an investment. Likewise, new bottling and labeling stations were installed. Today the winery owns 50 hectares of vineyards in the best locations in the surrounding communities Serralunga d'Alba, Grinzane Cavour, Barolo, La Morra, Treiso, Diano d'Alba, Sinio and Trezzo.

Cherry blossom colour, nearly opaque. It disclosed a very nice smell of white roses. Extraordinary flavour with caramel hints.
It accompanied our desserts.
I enjoyed with a good friend.
They had it in a wine stand and I bought it.
