TASTING NOTES OF Gaja Barbaresco 2014:
- View: ruby red.
- Nose: Juicy red and blue fruits, violet petals, tar sand, licorice, spices, cigar and crushed rocks river.
- Mouth: firm tannins, abundant dry extract, combined with a sweet perfume interior.
APPELLATION: Barbaresco.
VINES: Gaja
GRAPES: Nebbiolo.
AGEING: 12 months in barrels and 12 months in Slovenian oak casks.
PAIRING: Red meats and game.
TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °C

Gaja is an Italian wine producer from the Piemonte region in the district of Langhe, chiefly producing a number of Barbaresco and Barolo wines. Gaja's current owner and president Angelo Gaja is credited with developing techniques that have revolutionised winemaking in Italy.
