TASTING NOTES OF Gaja Barbaresco 2014:

View: ruby red.
Nose: Juicy red and blue fruits, violet petals, tar sand, licorice, spices, cigar and crushed rocks river.
Mouth: firm tannins, abundant dry extract, combined with a sweet perfume interior.

APPELLATION: Barbaresco.

VINES: Gaja

GRAPES: Nebbiolo.

AGEING: 12 months in barrels and 12 months in Slovenian oak casks.

PAIRING: Red meats and game.

Barbaresco GAJA 2014

Made according to Barbaresco tradition, the wine reveals itself slowly at first and doles out small aromas of wild berry, licorice, root beer, smoke and graphite that become magically more intense with time in the glass. The acidity, tannic factor and overall sophistication show harmony and masterful balance.

Gaja Barbaresco 2014 resulta ser un vino compacto, bien equilibrado y lleno de boca; el final es casi balsámico con sabores de regaliz. Su aroma se caracteriza por ser fresco y jugoso, recordando a bayas rojas como cereza, fresa o frambuesa. Además, también posee un toque de margarita y pimienta negra.

Il Barbaresco di Gaja è uno dei vini italiani più prestigiosi, viene affinato per 24 mesi in barrique e botti grandi. Dal colore rosso granato intenso con riflessi aranciati, al naso elegante, complesso e delicato, seguono sfumature floreali di viola, richiami alle erbe aromatiche. Al palato morbido, vellutato, armonico ed elegante, di lunga progressione. CIBO-VINO Perfetto per una cena importante, accompagnato da piatti abbastanza strutturati, da provare con una lombata di maiale con purè di castagne.

As a coincidence I visited the winery and I bought a few boxes.
Bright cherry colour, high layer. It smelled of oak. Taste of ripe fruit in the mouth.

Red base colour with violet hints. Aromas of dried fruits.Fruity taste.
I recommend to taste it with prosciutto.
All of my friends were delighted about this wine.

A client gave it to me.
Intense ruby tone. Aromas of walnuts and hazelnuts. A little too acid although it depends on the taste of each person.
I enjoyed it without pairing.
