Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Rabaja 2012 Stephen Tanzer 94/100 Red brilliant and intense garnet interesting aroma of fine wood notes, nutty and buttery final warm Taste, enveloping, great structure, lush and soft and silky tannins The Barbaresco Bruno "Rabaj" Rocca among the most important wines of Piedmont. We are faced with a wine with great structure and coat of arms, an emblematic Barbaresco for the class with which can arise. And the perfect synthesis of the philosophy of Bruno Rocca, the mirror and the soul of the earth, the territory, the faithful ally of man, a wine that must be protected and defended and that never betrays, on any occasion. It comes from Nebbiolo grapes in Rabaj cru vineyards of who can easily tell the story of Bruno Rocca company; vines planted in 1964, facing South-West, with a soil rich in limestone and clay. And here taking shape enhancement of the earth, here where the Nebbiolo at its maximum all its potentialities. A precious terroir of belonging that manifests itself intimately in all of its features in this Barbaresco "Rabaj"; juicy and subtle, elegant and enveloping, which matures for 12-18 months in French oak barrels, and that gives us important notes of precious woods, vanilla, hazelnut and terminating with a final buttery, raspberry and cherry. The Rabaj Bruno Rocca Barbaresco an intriguing, a great wine.

Deep and intense garnet red color. Nose-embracing with scents of sweet wood (vanilla, hazelnut) and buttery notes opening to raspberry and cherry. Flavour: warm, mouth-filling taste with soft broad tannins, a sumptuous elegant wine, with a long finish recalling the aromas revealed on the nose.

Reviews about Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Rabaja 2014

Ruby-garnet in colour with an intensely perfumed nose and notes of flowers, redcurrant, blackberry and a smoky edge. On the palate there is great fruit concentration and the characteristic tannins of Nebbiolo have been softened by the warm autumn. Long and very elegant on the finish.

Toasted and smoky aromas. Too watery in the mouth.
A very good red but with too much wood flavour.

Bruno Rocca Rabajà 2015
I visited the winery and bought it a few bottles there.
Amazing cherry colour. Toasted and smoky aromas. Nice, dense and warm in the mouth.
