The Denomination of Origin of Banyuls produce dessert wines, made from old vines. This strain is cultivated on the slopes of the Pyrenees in the Roussillon area of ​​French wine.

The majority of their wines are reds. The variety of grapes allowed are the Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Macabeo, Malvoisie and Muscat. Grand Cru is the name Banylus dedicated to superior wines.

These wines are aged in oak barrels or in glass bottles allowing oxidation by heat. The production process is known mutagens, which is similar to the process for making Porto. The fermentation is stopped by adding alcohol to the must and thus preserving the natural grape sugar.
