“Man has a dream to discover his past by doing in the present, a recreation of the Portuguese vine (in general) and bairradinha (in particular), before the arrival of the phylloxera plagues.
This was the dream that Luis Pato made reality 28 years ago when he planted Baga at Pé Franco, within a sandy soil. Eight years ago, by the suggestion of a friend, he planted in the corner of the Valadas Vineyard, where the soil is of clay-sandstone, a small quantity of vines (2.500 ft / 3.000m2) of Baga, in order to find out if the same plantation process of the pre-phylloxera changes the style of the wine that results from there. And it really did!
As you taste it you’ll discover a world of differences. With a distance of 8 kilometers, within the same region, done in the same way can show so much difference in aromas, tannins and flavors. Discover them in 328 bottles and 25 magnums!”
