The capital of Australia stands out for its wines called “pudding wines” and which has found, thanks to them, a place in the American market.
In Australia's main wineries there are strains such as Chardonnays, Sauvignons, Shiraz, among others. On the outskirts of Sydney' the strains that stand out are the Pinot Noirs, as well as the vineyards of the Yarra Valley, offering a great variety of sparkling wines.
Australian wine-production is in constant search to improve strains. This is made clear by the fact that at the beginning of the year 2000 they presented a new vine, obtained by crossing, the Cienna, obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon and Sumoll. Later, they also presented the vermillion, tyrian and rubienne, all from four different crosses of Cabernet and Sumoll.
Among the most outstanding strains in this region we must mention Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, just as in the south of Australia.
