You will like to know that…

The oldest spirit in France, Armagnac has been around for more than 700 years. Along with Cognac and Calvados, it is one of the three controlled French brandy appellations. An important part of that long history, Maison Janneau began producing Armagnac in 1851. This distillery owns both its distillery and its cellars, so it is able to control every aspect of production. The company currently controls the largest collection of old Armagnac in the world.

Janneau XO is an Armagnac which is made using mostly Baco and Ugni Blanc grapes from the regions of Bas Armagnac and Ténarèze. Once harvested, these are single-distilled (at times, double-distilled) before ageing in ancient oak casks for at least 12 and up to 30 years. Once appropriately aged, the eaux-de-vie is then blended with selected others to create the perfect cuvée. This selection is done by the Cellar Master according to taste, smell, and colour. After blending, the Armagnacs are left to marry for six months in large vats in order to achieve perfect homogeneity before bottling.

This intense and well-balanced Armagnac is full of flavours. Oak, tobacco, quine, orange, almond, coffee, cinnamon, and spices are just some of the flavours that will dance across your tongue upon trying this highly-awarded Armagnac.
