Tommasi Viticoltori can be found in the northwest part of Verona, Italy. The small village of Pedemonte, in the Valpolicella Classico region, has been home to the brand since it was founded in 1902. Despite starting out as a tiny family vineyard, the company now controls 195 hectares of hillside vineyards, which allow it to offer consumers Italian wines of the highest quality.
Tommasi Amarone Classico Della Valpolicella Classico 2013 is a classic wine from the brand that is made using all four varieties of Valpolicella grape: Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta. These grapes are collected and allowed to dry in the winter and autumn breeze until 50% of their weight has disappeared. After fermentation and 30 months spent maturing in oak and one in the bottle, this wine is ready for consumption.
The creation of this traditional Amarone is a labour of love. It takes time, patience, and experience to know how to get the most out of these regional grapes. This special wine is a gorgeous, deep ruby red whose aroma and flavour are as intense as its colouring. This wine is the perfect accompaniment for a special occasion as it can be enjoyed on its own, bringing a touch of elegance to the proceedings. Pair it with red meat, game, and mature cheese to get the most out of its dark fruit notes.
