Tedeschi Amarone delle Valpolicella Marne is a beautiful ruby red wine with hints of vanilla, soft red fruit, such as black currants, cherries and currants. Marne means marl, the wine is named after the soil type and the fact that the vineyards are planted in a semi-circle of 180 degrees towards the sun. The taste is strong, full and warm in structure, which is also beautifully balanced. The finish confirms the hints of the scent of soft red fruit, which is long lasting and very soft. The scent is sultry and powerful, with cherry seeds, broad, currants and raisins, figs and plums. The wine is delicious from the start, but after a few years (5 to 10 years) this wine is even better. In September the grapes are picked by hand and placed on plastic trays to dry until January. During this drying process, the grapes lose around 30% of their moisture and 25% of their weight. The grapes are pressed in January, after which the fermentation takes place in steel vessels under a controlled temperature of 15ºC. The wine then goes into Slovenian oak barrels for 2 years for further maturation, after which the wine is bottled. The ripening process is continued on the bottle for at least 6 months in the cellars of the domain.

Not for nothing is this one of the best Amaraone's and Tedeschi is one of those producers that is known for its very consistent quality. In terms of price / quality, it is almost impossible to find anything comparable in the Amarone range.

This is a magnum version of 1.5 liters.

Marne means marl, the wine is named after the soil type and the fact that the vineyards are planted in a semi-circle of 180 degrees towards the sun. Amarone is a dry wine made from dried grapes from the Valpolicella region. Grapes are used for drying that are almost, but not yet fully ripe. They are usually picked at a sugar content that, if fermented, alcohol content and a higher flavor intensity are achieved. The result is a special dry red wine, particularly full and powerful. Good is for no more than about 10% potential alcohol. The skin is still firm, so that the grapes remain intact during drying. Moreover, the acid is still lively. Drying increases the sugar content, so that a higher alcohol content and a higher flavor intensity are achieved during fermentation. The result is a special dry red wine, particularly full and powerful.
