Herdade do Sobroso, in its 1600 hectares, combines the production of wine with the fruition of space and nature, using them as a leisure center. Situated in the Alentejo municipality of Vidigueira, Herdade do Sobroso is bounded by Mendro mountains at north, Guadiana to the east and at south by the enormous plain that stretches out of sight. It is this geographical harmony underpinning the wealth of their land and it is in this context that the winery is located. It is a place where modernity and functionality coexist in an indelible fashion, so that gives to the produced wines a unique quality. The Herdade do Sobroso is characterized by presenting clay loam and sandy soils focusing on implementation in accordance with criteria aimed at producing grapes with high quality. Regarding the climate this region is known for its cold winters, followed by long and hot summers. The dominant red grape varieties are Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The grapes are hand-picked Sobroso Herdade do and are just very soft crushed. The wine is fermented in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature and then allowed to ripen over eighteen months in new French oak barrels. In the glass, the wine has a beautiful dark red color. The nose has nice show wine of dark plums, wild berries, cocoa and vanilla. On the palate it is full-bodied with well fresh with soft tannins with a long and elegant finish. This is a wonderful wonderful red wine that begs to be enjoyed. This is the fireplace with good company but drink this wine once in a beautifully wild-roast or a Ribeye or entropion côte with roquefort sauce or with a deer steak and then pure nature.

Good colour. Clear licorice and balsamic aromas of menthol. Quite sweet.
Suitable for a menu as varied as we had.
