Due to this, we had already set our mind to have a dry year, we had several years of less-than-average rainfall
Nature proved us wrong, the rains continued until October, and ultimately, between January and December 2015 (313 mm) was 9% higher than the average (288 mm)
It is perfectly possible to provide balanced moisture to the canopy
Along with the rain came during the spring, delaying bud break in 8 to 10 days as compared with the previous season
This slight time lag has continued, but it has taken a long time, providing a healthy condition for a healthy fruit set

The warm summer weather continues all around February, allowing the crop homogenize before getting into the cool days of March that slowed down the ripening process
The harvest at our Seña Vineyard reached maturity later in the season
It was mostly concentrated during the first fortnight of April, except for the Malbec, which was picked up in March and the Carmenere, picked up during the last week of April, just ather the rains that arrived halfway through the month, reaching historical records of 79 mm
the wines have been deliciously round tannins and are bolstered by a bright and balanced level of acidity
The flavors of each varietal truly stand out in this vintage, and the quality of the wines is a testament to the quality of Seña's terroir
The grapes were handpicked in the morning and transported to the winery in 12 kg boxes for a careful inspection on a double sorting table to eliminate plant matter and defective berries
The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks at 23 º -28 º C (73 º -82 º F), depending on the desired extraction
Three pumps were carried out daily during fermentation
0.5-1.5 times the volume of the tank
Total maceration time ranged from 15 to 30 days for Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, and 8 to 12 days for Petit Verdot, according to the development of each block vinified
The final blend was racked to the barley (73% new) and aged for 22 months, during which time malolactic fermentation and stabilization occurred naturally.

A SUNNY AND DRY GROWING SEASON Spring began with higher than average historical average, especially during October, when the heat accumulated was 19% above a normal year
This gives a significant kick to the beginning of the vegetative growth, achieving a well-balanced and healthy canopy
November and December moved from average to cool
These conditions are favored with a steady flowering, fruit set and healthy fruit conditions
In all, the total heat was 5.6% higher than our recorded averages
From October to April we had almost no precipitation, except for a slight rain in March, which had a positive refreshing effect
From bud break to harvest, sunny days followed by perfect evenings for even and perfect ripening, deep fruit intensity, plus outstanding smoothness, length and depth.
